Quick BARREL change SYSTEM

Some may have seen devices that mount to the front of a bolt action receiver to assist in changing a barrel. Some may have heard of REMAGE where it is a Remington thread pitch but uses a Savage Barrel nut. Need some tools and slightly more than average skill to change those. There are a handful of quick change systems out there but nothing like the West Texas Ordnance, Switch Lug. We bow down to this marvel and gladly add it to the front of most of our receivers. 

We can now offer a Short Action, XM(Defiance Length, PRC), and Magnum(Lapua, Norma, Weatherby). With a simple hand tool, you can unscrew the barrel and put another one on in under a minute. All without removing the barreled action from the stock, fooling with tools, vises, etc. All of this is also possible with GUARENTEED HEAD SPACE!

The barrel tenon is machined in such a way to work with the Switch Lug for proper tension, torque, and headspace. This is a simple upgrade to our bolt action receivers. We will be offering more than just our normal caliber line on a case by case request.  243 WIN being the smallest all the way to 500 Weatherby! Below are a few examples of highlights and setups.

1. Imagine having one XM action with a Switch Lug. You can now just add barrels, stocks, scopes at anytime to enhance your weapon system. Here is a shop setup we are wrapping up soon.

Stock: Manners EH6A stock, mini chassis, Detach Magazine, contoured for carbon fiber MEDIUM barrels

Action: XSA-MAGNUM (XM Length) Action, Switch Lug, 2 Bolts (.470 face and Magnum Face)

Barrels: 18" 243 WIN (9 twist) for Varmints, 20" 6.5 WSM for deer, 18" 338 WSM, 18.5" 375 WSM for the biggest in North America, 20" 458 WSM for squirrel, Cape Buffalo

Scopes: Hawke 1-6, Hawke 2.5-15, Hawke 4-24. All with QD rings

2. One medium or normal hard case can hold most of this setup. This saves more than $5k on actions alone for individual rifles. Think of all of the other stuff not needed. Length and weight can be tailored by scopes and barrel contour. Don't want a Manners stock, choose a chassis. It will fit all of the setup in highlight number 1. 

Prefer an AG Composites stock, choice is yours. Or just buy them all over time. Put your new system in a chassis with a heavy target barrel. Or have a super thin featherweight contour for stock number 2. The determining factor is the stock/chassis and the barrel contour. Chassis are very accommodating but if you get a Manners with a small carbon contour, you may have limited your caliber range. Can't put 375 in a pencil carbon contour. We will work with you to establish your range and system.

3. Your cost for the initial build is just slightly above a basic rifle with the addition of the Switch Lug and small machine time for the barrel. 6 months or 5 years after purchase you want a new stock, barrel, etc just give us a call. Will make it and send it when it is ready. We know what receiver it is going on and have all of the confidence you will be over the moon. Now you arn't saving money for a varmint specific rifle, or a long range elk rifle. You could book a hunt in Idaho for Mule Deer using 338 WSM and for the last 2 days of your hunt, switch to 243 WIN for some predators. All with just a handtool!

4. A bigger project using the Magnum length action is also on the drawing board for 7mm-300 Norma, 300 Norma, and 338 Norma. One stock, 8.8 lbs ready to shoot.

5. Are you a Weatherby fan? How about 6.5-300 WBY all the way to 460 WBY or the wildcat 500 WBY? This will need a much sturdier stock but hey, easily done!
